Due to the hardship of unemployment and poverty experienced in 2008,the Goldfoundation hosted the VodaFone GoldTown Carvinal during the month of November. It was held over for 4 days from 19th to 22nd of November.

Four queens were sponsoured by various sponsors. There was Famers Queen,Civil servant queen,Landowners Queen and NGO queen.
